WHY USE IN2GEAR
Why learn to drive with In2Gear?
We go above and beyond in many ways to help you learn to drive.
As well as the usual driving lesson content we have a specially put together drivers progress record that will help guide you through your journey to becoming a driver. This plan helps you follow your progress as you learn so you know exactly where you are at any point in time with your learning.
We also create our own learning aids including diagrams to help explain the complexities of some of the road junctions and roundabouts, which is something unique to In2Gear, and is something we find our students really benefit from. See some examples of these learning aids below, we will provide you with detailed versions of these during your lessons.

Our Drivers Progress Record
Learning and getting better at each skill
It’s important to keep track of the progress you are making as you learn. We have created a custom drivers progress record that you can use as a way of helping you to keep a record of your progress throughout your course of lessons.
It will help you see:
- Which skills you need to improve on
- Which skills you’ve made lots of progress on
- If you’re ready to take the driving test
What’s in the driver’s record?
The driver’s record contains a list of the 27 skills that you need to learn to become a safe driver and pass your test. The 27 skills are split into 8 groups:
- The basics
- Control and positioning
- Observations, signalling and planning
- Junctions, roundabouts and crossings
- Manoeuvres
- Road types
- Driving conditions
- Following routes
Progress Levels
There are also 5 progress levels that indicate where you are in these skills:
- Introduced
- Helped
- Prompted
- Independent
- Reflection
You will be ready to take your driving test and drive safely when you’re constantly achieving level 5 (reflection) on each of the 27 skills.
